P is 4.5 years old. As you look at my healthy girl, one cannot imagine that P suffers side effects from her pull-through surgery, which was performed when she was 9 weeks old. After 4.5 years, we were told to expect P's body to normalize and all things go back to normal....Normal has never come.
We have seen the local surgeon, and it has been determined that P requires a test on July 6th to ensure her large intestine appears normal. On the July 17th, the surgeon will perform exploratory surgery on P's large intestine to find any mistakes with her pull-through operation and to perform biopsies. There is a remote chance that P may require another pull-through surgery. I. am. sick. Obviously, whatever the result, Kong and I will be seeking other opinions prior to any more surgery. These opinions will require possible extended travel to Ohio. Everything is up in the air at the moment as we go about our lives, behaving normally.
Please pray for P and the surgeon as we seek viable and appropriate treatment options. Please pray for the nurses and Doctors who will work on Katie. Pray that God will give my family wisdom and patience. We love our Church family and covet your prays...
